The quality of Carrier Gases is vital to the correct operation of many Gas Chromatographs. In Particular, Gas Chromatographs using:
AGC Discharge Ionisation Detector (DID) AGC High Frequency Argon Discharge Detector (HF-ADD).
The AGC Carrier Gas (Argon or Helium) Purifier is necessary and must be used on the carrier gas line. A minimum quality of N6.0 (99.9999%) is required for either detector to get optimum performance.
Higher quality carrier gas will ensure better sensitivity and longevity of the detector. Using the AGC Gas Purifier, will allow for lower carrier gas costs, as a carrier gas of grade N5.0 (99.999%) can be passed through, and the carrier gas exiting will be N6.0.
In addition to lowering costs of ownership, the use of pure carrier gas will ensure better sensitivity and longer life for your Gas Chromatograph.
Please note: It is very important that all stainless steel tubing used is of high chromatographic quality, and contains no contamination. For all DID and HFADD applications, tubing of 1/16" is recommended.
